Flat Head Chisel

Flat head chisels are generally used for secondary breaking, which means breaking already fractured objects or medium-hardness materials.  

Due to their flat head design, they don't have excessive penetrating force and function more like blunt instruments compared to other types.  

While wear on pointed chisels occurs at the tip, flat head chisels only experience wear along their length. They can also break hard, brittle objects.
